New Clinic To Open in South Portland South Portland, Maine, March 4, 2007 – ASAP Medical Clinic, a new type of walk-in medical clinic in a retail setting, will be opening on March 19, 2007. The new clinic, the concept of ASAP Medical Clinics, LLC, is meant as an affordable alternative to an emergency room for people who have minor illnesses. The clinic will treat people regardless of whether they have insurance or not and is also a great alternative for those who just want the convenience. The concept is to provide medical care for acute minor illnesses in a convenient and affordable manner. The clinic is completely electronic, from registration to check-out. You can even register online prior to arriving, and set the time when you want your name to appear on the clinic list. ASAP Medical Clinic does not take insurance, but their services are reimbursable by most insurance companies. Full course prescription medications, without the wait, as well as non-prescription medications, will be available on site. This allows patients to go to a single location for complete treatment, rather than running from the office to the pharmacy, to the store, and finally getting home. The clinic will have extended hours, seven days a week, from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays, as well as 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Noon to 4 pm on Sunday. The flagship clinic, at Western Avenue Crossing, 209 Western Ave, in South Portland near the Maine Mall, was designed by Gawron Turgeon Architects. The nearly 2,000 square foot clinic will include patient exam rooms, ADA accessible bathroom, office and lab space, a waiting area, administrative areas and data stations. The clinic will be convenient, friendly, and be high-tech at the same time.
